Congratulations, Gray Court-Owings (GCO) School Art Teacher Ethan Carroll on being commissioned to create art inspired by Martha Franks Retirement Historic Villa. Mr. Carroll used a variety of media - pen and ink, watercolor, as well as acrylic.

The inaugural Historically Black Colleges and Universities Recruitment and Resource Event was held at Laurens High School on Thursday, February 20th. Students at Laurens High School were able to apply and receive acceptance letters on sight. Several local businesses and Greek organizations were on hand distributing scholarships and information to students and parents. Geneva's Catering, South Carolina Employment and Workforce, and Pragma Home Health Care were also event sponsors.


Laurens County School District 55 celebrates Laurens High School wrestler Dakota McCall on his state championship. He is the first Laurens High School Wrestling State Champion since 1974. Congratulations, Dakota!

Congratulations, Tammy Wakefield! Tammy Wakefield is a Special Education teacher at Laurens Elementary School. She is ardent about teaching citizenship in her class. She creates and incorporates unique resources and teaching methods to make citizenship learning fun and memorable. She is a model-citizen and Laurens County School District 55 is very proud of her.


Congratulations to the Laurens District 55 High School seniors that signed a National Letter of Intent to continue their athletic career at a college or university in the fall. Best wishes to the class of 2025.
