Laurens County School District 55 Confirms Arrest of High School Teacher & Placement on Administrative Leave Without Pay Please be informed that Co-Interim Superintendent Dr. Jody Penland confirmed on April 25, 2024, that Laurens District 55 High School Teacher Joseph Beckham has been arrested today by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office. To protect the safety of students and staff, Beckham has been placed on Administrative Leave without pay immediately.
