
Important Community Update from Laurens County School District 55 - Reference Sanders Middle School
We want to inform you about an incident at Sanders Middle School (SMS). This morning, the SMS Administration and School Resource Officer (SRO) were made aware of a possible weapon brought on campus. Upon swift investigation, the SMS Administrators and the SRO found the suspected weapon to be a toy water pistol.
The district confirms that SMS was under no threat. SMS teachers and staff remain safe and engaged in learning. The district will address concerned students using the appropriate Disciplinary Code of Conduct.

Laurens 55 thanks Laurens Preparatory Academy (LPA) Director Dr. Tina Faulkner for leading LPA and serving Laurens 55 students (Kindergarten to Twelfth Grade). She works collaboratively with our Laurens 55 principals in serving our students. LPA also serves Laurens 56 students.

Watch the news today at 5 pm as they honor the life of Charles Graves, 2024-25 Transportation Department Support Staff of the Year. Charles served Laurens 55 for 35 years. He passed away recently.
