The Laurens District 55 High School Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (LDHS NJROTC) held the first Patriot Day 9/11 Tunnel Walk & Tower Climb Remembrance Event on September 11, 2024 at LDHS KC Hanna Stadium. Community members were invited to participate to honor the heroes and the lives lost on September 11, 2001, during the terrorist attack that took down the Twin Towers in New York.
The event was a success with students, staff, and community members dropping in to walk multiple laps or climb bleachers. A special thanks to NJROTC Commander Kevin Borden and NJROTC Senior Chief Armond Flood for organizing the event and keeping our patriotic spirit alive.
